BOTANICAL PORTRAIT A perennial herb, the Tarragon Plant bears smooth narrow leaves, an erect stem, and small, yellow-green flowers. Tarragon Plants reach a height of almost 4 feet tall when it is said to be fully grown. SOURCE The Tarragon Plant is native to Europe, Southern Russia, and Western Asia but can be found in all parts of the world today. The Tarragon Essential Oil is mainly produced in France, The Netherlands, Hungary and the United States.ORIGIN The name ‘Tarragon’ is derived from the Arabic word Tharkhoum and the Latin Dracunculus meaning 'Little Dragon'. PRINCIPLE  CONSTITUENTS The main chemical that can be found in the makeup of the Tarragon Essential Oil is Methyl Chaviol which makes up about 80% of the whole chemical composition among other trace chemicals. HISTORY In Ancient India and Persia, the people used Tarragon to make a tisane (a medicinally therapeutic tea) and used it as aromatherapy to help induce appetite in some.

Some studies have also shown that it may help those that suffer from anorexia.

Phototoxic avoid exposure to direct sunlight or sunbed rays for 12 hours following application of the diluted essential oil to the skin. Avoid use during pregnancy.
