The wood of the Cypress Tree has a woody aroma that is also spicy. SOURCE Cypress grows in the Northeastern part of the Mediterranean region in countries like Albanian Cyprus, Israel, Lebanon, etc. and is cultivated in Western Europe in countries like France and Spain.ORIGIN Ancient Civilizations used Cypress medicinally and as incense (Tibetans still use it today as cleansing incense). The Chinese found the nuts to be beneficial to the liver and the respiratory system.PRINCIPLE CONSTITUENTSCypress has many constituents, but the main constituents include 18.5% Guaiol, 10.8% Bulnesol. Cypress also contains other chemicals such as Cedrol and Sabinol in its chemical makeup HISTORY According to Roberta Wilson, "The Evergreen branches of the Cypress were considered symbolic of life after death. In fact, Sempervirens means "Ever-Living".
