SOURCEThe Marjoram Plant, though native to Europe, is now cultivated worldwide with the leading cultivators being the USA, India and South America. The Marjoram Essential Oil is produced mainly in Bulgaria, Italy and Spain.ORIGINThe Marjoram Plant was originally a form of wild growing Thyme; however, seeing as there a number of key differences, it is separate from Thyme completely.PRINCIPAL CONSTITUENTSThe Marjoram Essential Oil contains 45.6% 1,8-Cineole, 4.9% a-Pinene, and 15.1% Linalool. HISTORYThe Marjoram Plant was a very popular medicinal plant among the ancient Greek culture as it was named after the Greek word which translates to “Joy-of-the-mountains.”
