Carrier Oils are derived from vegetables; but many are pressed from seeds, nuts, or kernels. Referred as base oils, Carrier Oils are used to safely dilute Essential Oils, Absolutes or Synergy Blend before topical application, as they may be too potent to apply directly to the skin. They are commonly used in aromatherapy, massage therapy, spa treatments as well as in cosmetic products. They are so named because they “carry” the essential oil onto the skin.
