BOTANICAL PORTRAIT  This Petitgrain Essential Oil is derived from the Bitter Orange Tree and is native to Southeast Asia. Petitgrain now grows worldwide and thrives in the Mediterranean region. SOURCE The best quality Petitgrain Essential Oil comes from France but can also be produced in North Africa, Paraguay and Haiti from semi-wild trees.ORIGIN Today, Petitgrain is one of the classic ingredients present in Eau-De-Cologne. Petitgrain has to be extracted from oranges that were unripened and were about the size of a cherry. PRINCIPLE CONSTITUENTS Petitgrain carries a chemical portrait similar to citrus fruit in that it contains mostly limonene where almost 42% makes up the Petitgrain Essential Oil. HISTORY Because Petitgrain was produced from small unripened oranges, it was named Petitgrain, which in French means ‘Little Grain’.
