BOTANICAL PORTRAIT A shrub with a wonderful aroma, Rosemary has scaly bark, and leaves that resemble needles. Rosemary can grow up to 6 feet tall and bears tiny blue blossoms from December to spring.SOURCE Native to the Mediterranean region, Rosemary is now grown on every continent including countries like France,  the USA, Russia, Britain, Australia, Peru and Morocco as well as many others. ORIGIN Because of its clean smell, the Rosemary herb was used in medieval hospitals to purify the air as a form of incense. PRINCIPLE CONSTITUENTS The three main constituents of Rosemary are a-Pinene at 28%, 1,8-Cineol at 17.4% and Camphor at 14%. HISTORY In Rome, Rosemary was used as burial sites and that tradition carried all the way into medieval times when it was a tradition to put Rosemary branches on the coffins at a funeral.
