BOTANICAL PORTRAIT The Cassia Tree is a short tree reaching a peak height of about 25 feet. Cassia has small yellow flowers that hang from the long stocks. The leaves from which the essential oil is distilled are long and oblong shaped and very aromatic. SOURCEThe Cassia Tree typically grows in hot, wet, tropical climates both wildly and commercially. Cassia is produced in areas like Vietnam, Southern China and Tropical Southeastern Asia because of their ideal growing conditions.ORIGINThe Cassia Plant is nicknamed Chinese Cinnamon because of its historical use by the Chinese. It has been used medicinally by the ancient Chinese for thousands of years.PRINCIPLE CONSTITUENTSThe main ingredient of the Cassia Essential Oil is Cinnamic Aldehyde making up about 85% of the oil.HISTORYThe Cassia Plant has a religious history as it was used by Moses in Exodus 30, 23. Cassia's first recorded use was in the Han Dynasty (200 B.C.E-200 C.E).
