BOTANICAL PORTRAIT  The bark of the Cinnamon Tree is very coarse and has a magnificent aroma surrounding it. The bark of the Cinnamon Tree is a light brown color and is very smooth looking compared to the bark of a pine tree. SOURCE The Cinnamon Tree is a Chinese and Vietnamese native that now grows in a multitude of countries. Cinnamon Trees are especially prominent in the tropical areas and islands of southeastern Asia.ORIGIN Cinnamon was used medicinally as early as 2700 B.C.E. in China and in Egypt medicinally as well as recreationally. PRINCIPLE CONSTITUENTS  The main constituent of Cinnamon Bark is Cinnamyl Aldehyde at 74.2% HISTORYMedicinally, Cinnamon Bark was used as a healing aid for digestive and menstrual problems, colds, the flu and as a general stimulant. In Egypt, it was used for foot massages, as an ingredient of love potions and as a sedative for birthing.
