SOURCE The Nutmeg Tree is cultivated in Indonesia, Sri Lanka and primarily in Grenada though it is native to the Moluccas Islands, Indonesia.ORIGIN Nutmeg was used by Indians for intestinal disorders, by the Egyptians when preserving bodies and by the Italians during the time of the plague in the 15th and 16th centuries. PRINCIPLE CONSTITUENTS Nutmeg mainly contains Monoterpene Hydrocarbons in its chemical makeup; approximately 88% of the Nutmeg Oil is made up of this chemical.
